Let’s see today’s box office collection of War 2, how much did this movie earn?

Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer ‘War 2’ has received mixed reviews in the theatres, but it has had a good start. The film has earned ₹11.76 crore till 12 noon. However, it will have to compete with a strong film like Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’, which has earned ₹20.84 crore in the same period.

Meanwhile, ‘Coolie’ starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Aamir Khan, Shruti Haasan has earned Rs. 23.38 crore till the same time.

According to Box Office India, trade analysts warn that these numbers for ‘War 2’ do not yet point to a “huge blockbuster type weekend”, the kind the industry hopes for with such big-budget spectacles.

‘War 2’ may seem like a surprise compared to some of the juggernauts of the past, but the ratio of advance sales to first-day collections has changed in recent years, making direct comparisons difficult.

Some of the previous “big ones”, as the trade notes put it, also had “advances that were manipulated to put it nicely.” In contrast, War 2’s advance numbers are double those of recent big titles like ‘Raid 2’ and ‘Housefull 5’.

Ultimately, it’s the reviews and now weekend footfall that will ultimately determine the fate of the film. But at the moment, it seems like ‘Coolie’ is definitely on the upper side in terms of numbers.
