New Delhi: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy Stree 2 has created history at the box office! The film has now become the highest-grossing Hindi movie ever, surpassing none other than Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

After 34 days of release, Stree 2 has collected over ₹586 crore in India, going past Jawan’s lifetime earnings of ₹582.31 crore. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote:

“#Stree2 scripts HISTORY… Becomes the HIGHEST-GROSSING HINDI FILM EVER… Crosses lifetime biz of #Jawan [#Hindi version]… Next stop: Inaugurating the ₹600 cr Club. [Week 5] Fri 3.60 cr, Sat 5.55 cr, Sun 6.85 cr, Mon 3.17 cr, Tue 2.65 cr. Total: ₹586 cr.”

The makers of Stree 2, Maddock Films, shared a special celebratory poster with a heartfelt note:

Reacting to the massive success, Rajkummar Rao told News18:“We were sure that the film would get a lot of love because of the response Stree 1 received. But these numbers are way above our expectations. We are glad and super elated. There’s a lot of gratitude that this is happening with a film like Stree, because it is content-driven.”

About the Film

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi. The film also features special cameos by Tamannaah Bhatia, Akshay Kumar, and Varun Dhawan.

Stree 2 continues the horror-comedy saga that began with the 2018 hit Stree, and it’s part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe, which also includes Roohi, Bhediya, and Munjya.
