Alien Earth Episode 1 and 2 are intense and exciting, watch it today.

A crashed spaceship. Creepy mind swaps. A blood-sucking insect. An eyeball on tentacles.

Noah Hawley’s brand-new sci-fi horror series Alien: Earth wastes no time delivering jaw-dropping — and sometimes stomach-churning — moments. The first two episodes, Neverland and Mr. October, now streaming on Hulu, promise fans plenty of thrills, chills, and Xenomorph action.

Spoiler Alert: This recap contains details from Episodes 1 & 2.

A Return to Classic Alien Territory

Set two years before the events of the original Alien: Earth, the story kicks off aboard the Weyland-Yutani science vessel Maginot. The ship’s design — from cryosleep chambers to the comms room — mirrors the iconic Nostromo. The crew awakens from deep sleep during one of their scheduled breaks, only for us to discover they’ve been collecting dangerous alien specimens… including a Xenomorph.

Among them is Tang, a synthetic crew member with a sinister side — he’s caught creepily watching a younger female crewmate as she sleeps.

Then disaster strikes: the Maginot crashes in New Siam, unleashing chaos and one particularly nasty blood-drinking bug. Thanks to the opening scenes, we already know what this thing can do — which makes it even more terrifying when it crawls inside a soldier’s helmet.

Corporate Power Games & the Immortality Race

While the creature horror keeps fans hooked, Neverland also dives into Hawley’s bigger vision: the corporate war for global dominance.

Enter Boy Kavalier — a barefoot, arrogant tech genius who rules much of Asia through his mega-corporation, Prodigy. His ambitious project? Transplanting human minds into synthetic bodies, starting with a group of terminally ill children he calls the Lost Boys.

One of them, a sharp and determined girl who renames herself Wendy, becomes the emotional heart of the story. She’s tough, fast, and fiercely protective of her brother, Hermit. And when he’s sent to investigate the Maginot crash, she’s right behind him — partly out of guilt, partly out of love.

From Neverland to Nightmare

The action soon shifts to the crash site. Hermit’s rescue team, the Lost Boys, and synthetic Kirsh explore the wreckage — and the massive building around it. The visuals are some of the biggest Hawley has pulled off on TV, with eerie corridors, strange alien tech, and plenty of tension.

The horror peaks with two unforgettable creatures:

  • The Blood Bug – a small but deadly parasite.
  • The Eyeball Monster – literally an eyeball on tentacles, with multiple irises, bursting from a cat’s skull.

The Xenomorph itself is more elusive, with most of its kills happening off-screen — perhaps due to budget or artistic choice. Still, when it does strike, the terror is real.

Xenomorph Mayhem — and a Shocking Reunion

Hermit somehow survives multiple encounters with the alien, even after a security cyborg named Morrow briefly stuns it with a taser rifle (a detail longtime fans might question). One of the best moments comes when the creature crashes a decadent French-themed party — turning it into a literal “eat the rich” massacre.

By the end of Mr. October, Hermit and Wendy (or “Marcy” to him) finally reunite — but the relief is short-lived. The Xenomorph snatches Hermit, and Wendy throws herself into the wreckage to save him. Will she make it? Probably… but Hawley has already shown he’s not afraid to shock his audience.

Verdict:

With corporate intrigue, creepy science experiments, and the return of sci-fi horror’s most iconic monster, Alien: Earth starts strong. If these first two episodes are any indication, the rest of the season will be a wild ride.
