Isabelle Desjardins Opens Up About Painful Breakup with Ex-Hockey Player David Desharnais
Isabelle Desjardins shares a heartfelt Instagram testimony about her breakup with ex-hockey player David Desharnais, revealing years of pain and betrayal.

Canadian host and singer Isabelle Desjardins has shared a deeply moving and raw testimony on Instagram, opening up about her relationship and emotional breakup with former professional hockey player David Desharnais.
In a series of Instagram stories posted over the weekend, Isabelle revealed the personal challenges she says she has faced since 2018.
“I Left Everything Behind for Him”
Isabelle says she sacrificed almost everything for her then-partner — leaving her career, music, friends, family, and even her belongings to follow him. She moved to Russia alone with their child, hoping to build a life together.
But just days after expressing her happiness to David, Isabelle claims she discovered he was cheating on her.
“I stopped loving myself. I stopped living,” she wrote, describing how the betrayal broke her emotionally and psychologically.
Years of Pain and Emotional Struggle
According to Isabelle, the heartbreak lasted for years. She shared that she tried to mend the relationship by having another child, but it didn’t heal the wounds. She spoke about enduring controlling behavior, hurtful words, and a lack of emotional support, all of which left lasting scars.
Recently, Isabelle says she learned that David is now in a new relationship — news that she admits reopened old wounds.
In one emotional video, she addresses her ex directly:
“The worst part is you still judge me — who I see, what I do for work. I left you, but you still decide everything.”
Regret for Her Children
Breaking down in her stories, Isabelle expressed sorrow for her children, saying:
“I’m sorry to my children for having such messed-up parents. I thought he was the one. I worked so hard to make it work, but the little killer phrases pile up, and you can’t breathe anymore.”
She revealed that at one point, the stress was so overwhelming she was in physical pain, relying on morphine because her doctor didn’t know how else to help her.
One particular memory still haunts her:
“I once saw a white dress in a shop and told him, ‘This would be beautiful for a wedding.’ He replied, ‘Stop thinking about that because it will never happen to you.’ And he was right — it never happened.”
